THE 2014 DIRTY DOZEN LISTdirty dozen

The Environmental Working Group just released its’ latest shoppers guide to pesticides sold in America. Apples took the top spot again and new to the list is imported Snap Peas. Take this list to the grocery store, and don’t buy them unless they are organic. And for all you Walmart lovers, they are adding a NEW organic section from Wild Oats Natural Marketplace. They will carry over 100 selections of fruits and vegetables and proclaim they will drive down the prices across the nation. Got to love them!
Here’s the DIRTY DOZEN: Apples, Strawberries, Grapes, Celery, Peaches, Spinach, Bell Peppers, Nectarines (imported), Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Snap Peas (imported), and Potatoes.
The EWG also released a list of fruits and vegetables that did not test positive for more than 4 types of pesticide and 80% of the Kiwis, Pineapples, Papayas, and Mangos had no residue at all. This is the companion list to the dirty dozen; they call it the clean fifteen.
Here’s the CLEAN FIFTEEN: Avocado, Sweet Corn (if not organic, buy non GMO), Pineapple, Cabbage, Frozen Sweet Peas, Onions, Asparagus, Mango, Papaya, Kiwi, Eggplant, Grapefruit, Cantaloupe, Cauliflower, and Sweet Potatoes.

The Raspberry – Not Just For Eating!

September 13, 2013

Besides being delicious to eat each fruit is made up of about 100 smaller fruits called “drupulets”, each with their own pulp and seed.

They’re a good source of the antioxidant ellagic acid, manganese, vitamin C, and riboflavin. When purchasing, avoid berries that look mushy or moldy, and look for full, firm, brightly colored fruit. Since they’re highly perishable, eat them as quickly as possible after purchase. Don’t wash the berries until you’re ready to use them, as this makes them more prone to spoiling. (Source)

Now they are also a good source for weight loss too!  Pure Raspberry Ketones contain unique ketones that are known to act as a natural thermogenic in the body  and increase lipolysis.  What does that mean? It means it helps your body go into a fat burning mode.  Rather than storing all the energy that you eat, it helps your metabolism “wake up” so to speak and start burning fat.   Raspberry Ketones help with appetite control, boost metabolism and supports increased energy.

Ask Yourself

Ask yourself

Knowing the reasons behind even your hurried clothing choices will lead to interesting discoveries about your personality.
Clothes signal all kinds of information about the roles you play, your status, attitudes, self-esteem and personality to name just a few things.
You may think you simply put on the first thing that comes to hand in the morning but is that really true?   How you dress and how you act are closely linked; you wouldn’t do the gardening in a suit or attend an important business meeting in gym wear.

Waiting until the morning to decide what you’ll be wearing is in my opinion too late. It only results in stress and often a ‘this will have to do’ outfit. Crafting your look starts beforehand with an organized wardrobe.
